Emotions Matter Borderline Personality Disorder Social Connections Series
October 28, 2019 in New York City
Theme: Wellness and BPD: Exploring Alternative Paths to Healing & Recovery
BPD Social Connections is a monthly series on Monday nights once a month held at The Center (The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center) in New York City (208 W. 13th St. New York, NY 10011). Each month focuses on a group activity followed by discussion of a different topic.
In October, our BPD Social Connections theme will be on the mind-body connection often involved in experiences of BPD recovery. Those with lived experience often report utilizing alternative strategies to complement therapy to move forward. Examples may include physical activity, exercise, meditation, changing medications, diet, herbs, animal therapy, music, art therapy, writing, etc.
Our peer leaders in various stages of recovery will share from different perspectives their experiences of utilizing wellness activities or alternative therapies to support BPD recovery. This discussion does not take the place of medical advice or treatment. There will be resources available for those seeking more information about BPD.
Light Refreshments will be served. Limited to 30 participants. Pre-Registration is strongly encouraged.
