BPD & Men Support Group Purpose and description
This group will be facilitated by volunteers who identify as male and have lived experience of BPD. They will share their recovery experiences from a male perspective in this group.
BPD is experienced differently by each individual person, depending on their symptoms and how symptoms affect their thoughts, behaviors, relationships and functioning. How BPD symptoms affect diverse gender identities is not well researched in the field BPD.
The purpose of this monthly BPD Support Group for Men will be to provide a safe space for community members who identify as male to share their unique experiences, in a supportive environment.
This BPD Peer Support for Men does not take the place of medical advice or treatment. There will be resources available for those seeking more information about BPD, as well as support. Group registrants will be asked to complete pre and post meeting surveys to provide feedback about the group experience, and help Emotions Matter learn more about the needs of BPD and Men and how to better meet the needs of this BPD community.
