Book Club

Have you ever wanted to learn more about Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and felt intimidated to get started? Maybe you've heard the term floated around in one of our peer support groups and would like to explore it further. Join us for a book club discussing Self-Directed DBT Skills by Kiki Fehling, PhD, and Elliott Weiner, PhD. Together, we'll explore DBT skills from the perspective of people with lived experience, and talk about how to use these skills in daily life while connecting with one another over our challenges and wins in a stigma-free, judgment-free space.

This 4-week book club is hosted by Alyssa G., Emotions Matter's Peer Trainer. We'll meet for four 90-minute sessions, each covering different themes and chapters from the book.

Participation is optional but encouraged, and the book club is centered around it. No prior experience with Dialectacal Behavior Therapy is necessary. Bring a pencil and paper and get started! Group participants are required to follow Emotions Matter's group guidelines. Discussion will emphasize sharing lived experiences in a judgment-free, compassionate environment.
